The BUSY weekend!

This past weekend was busy busy busy! On Saturday, all the posts for our fence (over an acre) were put in place. Honey..that's a lot of poles!! 80+ poles, means, 80+ holes to dig! Good thing we got the loan of an augur to help with that chore! WHEW!
Come Sunday, it was fence and coop day. First things first, the day was going to be beautiful so it was time for the Spring cleaning of the "HEN HOUSE!" The coop scrubbed clean, inside and out and a fresh coat of paint to go along with it. New hay in the run and the chickens are hap, hap, happy!
Then came the fence. With Tony, Melanie, Mark, Brandy and Franks help the fence for our 'yard' is up and in use! Baxter is loving it! (We can't get him inside now!)

It was a lot of work, but all worth it! Check out the slideshow below to see our adventurous weekend!

See ya next time......down on the farm!

The Fence weekend!

Last frost date?

Wow..I'm late with my gardening this year! I just looked at the chart for our last frost date this year (according to The Farmers Almanac) and it says March 9.., WOW..that has come and gone! So I guess I better get busy busy busy!! I've only gotten three of my garden boxes ready! Whew! I'm so late! Oh but you know what they say, better late then never!

We were busy in the yard all weekend though, I must say. We fenced in our entire back area..a little over an acre! THAT was a lot of work!! Check out the pics on the Sagewood blog when you get a chance! (I'll get them up there some time today! I promise!)
