Mornin!

Well, it's looking to be a beautiful day here in South Carolina! The farm is waking up, the birds are singing and waiting for me to fill the bird feeder and the dogs are at my feet begging to be let out to romp in the dew wet fields! Not to mention the chickens waiting at the gate!

I was out and about in the yard yesterday afternoon and snapped some pictures of our farm critters. So here ya go, part of our "not helping out chicken flock". They haven't started to lay yet, and it's one of the hardest things to wait for. I swear, it's worse then waiting for Christmas!! The average chicken doesn't start to lay till about 19 weeks or a little better. These gals have about 4 weeks left. Then I certianly do expect to see eggs! (I can hear the cauldron bubbling now if I don't get them!)

There are more of them around somewhere, but a few are camera shy! We've got 10 total. I'll have to tell you the story of "Happy Feet' some day, she's one of our chickens. She's got a history behind her!

As many of you know we are expecting our first grandbaby this June, and our second in November of this year. (Seems these two kids decided I'd waited long enough ..and gave me two in one year!) So here ya go, for his debut..is the soon to be Brayden Riley, still hiding from the camera but not for long!
Right now, Brayden is 5 1/2 lbs! Doc says she can look for a 10lb or more baby. OH MY GAWD! Are you sure you're having a baby or a line backer!
Either way, he'll be loved and spoiled. He's due to arrive on June 30, and I don't think she'll ever make it that long!

Now..for the second grandbaby. Another one I get to love on an spoil..:) They don't know what she's having yet, so I can't tell you the name. But, this little one is due in this world on November 21. So here ya go, for his or her second debut! Now, I say second debut, it's probably acutally the third. You can visit this grandbaby anytime at the following link,

Well, I guess that's about all the news that is news down on the little Farm. I'm off to the garden, so when you get time, check out the Garden Gate forum, and maybe I'll see you there!

Till later, 'down on the farm!'
